Kevin Lux has been creating his own original blend of electronic music since 1981. Formal worldwide releases and promotion began in 1995. The style varies from Synth Pop/Electro/Industrial/Machine Pop/Ambient/Synthwave [Gary Force Field]. During the initial period of 1981 – 1995, Kevin was referred to as: !Pulss [Pulse]. This music was a primitive hardware based sound/dance music genre utilizing live improvisation, sampling of various content including Kevin’s voice, wild percussive patterns, chaotic melodies, and effects.
Kevin’s music is a mixture of hardware/software technologies. Each album has a different theme by design.
xuLniveK: An alternate persona of Kevin Lux specializing in a more experimental darker sometimes comical direction.
Gary Force Field:
In 2020 Kevin decided to explore the SynthWave music genre. Kevin chose to to create a new persona entitled, “Gary Force Field” and write an album influenced by this musical genre with a new concept of it. A 2nd album, “Rewind Fee” has been released in 2023.
“Gary Force Field is a man from the retro future, inspired by 1980’s dated futuristic media, sound, art, and energy. Gary creates electronic instrumental musical soundtracks for this age.”
2024 – The Gary Force Field project has now evolved away from a Synthwave influence to more of a Cinematic Electro Dance/Ambient genre. A 3rd album has been released, “Music from the Future”.
!Pulss:
The music of !Pulss [pulse] began in the early 1980’s with primitive improvised chaotic dance music experiments. Production was created with various hardware toys/synthesizers/samplers/drum machines.
In 1995 production changed to the artist name: Kevin Lux from then going forward. Under that artist name, the content changed into several broad electronic genres over the years with over 30 album releases.
The music production under the named, “Kevin Lux” artist was retired in 2022.
2023 – Full Circle:
!Pulss has now been reborn based on the original concept of loosely structured chaotic semi-melodic retro/electro dance music. Production uses current hardware/software technology, including some of the original vintage equipment and work flows. !Pulss is reborn for the 21st century. Parts of production are totally improvised, as in the past. 2024: Kevin Lux now performs live as !Pulss. [See contact page for booking information]
